Terms of use
1. About this service
Check Your Bill (checkyourbill.co.uk) is an internal tool operated by Ecologic Partners Limited ("EPL", "we", "us"), company number [company number to be added], registered office Heworth Hall, Gateshead. It helps EPL staff validate business energy bills and identify exemptions and reliefs a client may qualify for. It is for use by authorised EPL staff only.
2. Accounts and access
- Each user has a personal username and password. Do not share your login or let anyone else use your account.
- Tell the site administrator straight away if you think your password has been seen by someone else.
- We may change, suspend or remove access at any time, including when someone leaves EPL.
- Repeated failed sign-in attempts are temporarily blocked to protect the service.
3. Acceptable use
- Use the service only for EPL business.
- Only upload bills, contracts and information you are authorised to handle on behalf of a client or prospective client. Documents saved with a check are kept and can be reviewed by the site administrator.
- Do not upload more personal information than is needed for the check, for example unrelated personal documents.
- Do not try to access data you are not entitled to, bypass security, or disrupt the service.
- Handle all client information in line with EPL's confidentiality and data protection policies.
4. Accuracy of results
- Bill figures are read automatically using artificial intelligence and may occasionally be misread. Check key figures against the original bill before relying on them.
- Exemption and relief results are indicative screening based on SIC codes, the information entered and the bills provided. Formal eligibility is decided by the relevant authorities, including HMRC, the Environment Agency and the Department for Business and Trade.
- Savings figures are estimates, not guarantees. Results are not tax, legal or financial advice.
5. Client emails
Email drafts are suggestions. The member of staff sending an email is responsible for reviewing and correcting it before it reaches a client.
6. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update the service and these terms at any time; the date at the top shows the latest version.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, EPL is not liable for loss arising from reliance on results that have not been checked as described in section 4. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
